Reporting directly to the Controller, the Accountant is responsible for preparing the monthly financial statements and reporting.  The individual performs A/R, A/P, bank reconciliations, payroll, and other general ledger accounting tasks, and is also responsible for the retirement plan accounting.  The Accountant assists with the annual budget process, CPA audit preparation, and will also assist the Controller in reporting on progress, variances and overall financial position to the VP of Administration.  The Accountant interacts with bank representatives on behalf of the organization. 

The ideal individual has experience working with non-profit organizations, and preferably, in the general human services industry.  A minimum of a four year degree in accounting or finance, with a minimum of three years’ experience in the accounting field, are required.  High level competence in accounting and spreadsheet software will be needed.  Attention to detail is an absolute must. 

While travel to conferences, continuing education, and service provider locations is rare for this position, remote work from home is not possible for this critical and sensitive position.
