Job Summary

This position provides strategic direction and leadership for the Membership Division to recruit, maintain, develop and serve the association membership; and to clearly articulate, develop and enhance the benefits of NRB membership. This position works to improve NRB’s visibility and reach and to cultivate and manage strategic alliances and partnerships. The position is responsible for liaison with members of the Board of Directors, Standing Committee Chairs and Executive Committee Chairs of the Nominations, Resolutions, and Awards Committees.

Responsibilities

Developing and Serving the Membership

· Recruit and retain members.

· Oversee the entire membership application process, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and timely communication with applicants.

· Oversee membership renewals, reinstatements, and billing coordination in collaboration with the finance department.

· Communicate and continually improve and enhance membership value for current and potential members.

· Develop a segmented member database, ensuring its currency in order to communicate and maximize opportunities for members and NRB priorities.

· Coordinate the Annual Media Awards process to recognize excellence in the association.

· Coordinate the Annual Nominations process.

· Assist member leadership in accomplishing their official responsibilities.

· Recruit and retain President’s Council members.

· Coordinate with Public Policy to host cost-effective educational events to provide opportunities for learning and networking, several of which will involve contact with Congressional, FCC and Administration staff.

· Develop, obtain critical information for, and maintain NRB’s Membership Learning and Resource Center.

· Develop and maintain information on website related to Executive Committee and Board of Directors bios and photos; and Award nominees and winner information including assembling information for press releases.

· Provide oversight and coordination of committee operations, including scheduling meetings, managing elections and awards, and facilitating engagement during the annual convention.

Staff Supervision

· Establish guidelines and performance expectations for staff members; provide feedback and evaluate employee performance. Provide advice, counsel, and instruction to staff members.

· Develop work improvement plans as needed and recommend personnel actions accordingly.

· Ensure proper training of staff.

General

· To perform other duties, as assigned by the executive staff.

· To perform all work with the highest ethical and moral standards, in compliance with all NRB internal policies and procedures.

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in marketing, public relations, communications, a related field or equivalent experience

· Master’s degree in a related field preferred

· at least five years' experience in advertising, marketing, sales and donor management

· Committed, well-established, mature Christian, and an active member of a local church.

· Must reside in Nashville area and be available to work onsite two days per week.
