Job Summary

This full time role is responsible for the day-to-day support and strategic growth of fundraising programs. The Monthly Donor Program Manager works to develop and execute strategies to acquire, retain and upgrade small donors, as well as cultivate strong relationships with supporters. The primary focus of the position is to increase revenue with the overall goal of supporting the organization's overall fundraising goals. This role reports to the Senior VP of External Relations (Development).

Responsibilities
  • Implement and track results of retention strategies to ensure ongoing support from existing small donors.

  • Create retention strategies and programs to improve small donor retention rates and track performance.

  • Establish personalized communication plans for small donors, including organizing quarterly calls with the organization's President, email updates, acknowledgement of their gifts, and more. 

  • Monitor donor satisfaction and address concerns and/or feedback in a timely and professional manner.

  • Monitor and track small donor giving trends and anomalies via reporting and program queries utilizing merchant processing software and spreadsheets. 

  • Ensure appropriate follow-up is conducted with each donor. Some of the follow-up is automated via SalesForce and some is dependent on action by the Manager or team members. Appropriate follow-up includes sending emails, phone calls, and physical mailing depending on level of giving.

  • Maintain updated email, phone script, and letter content as they relate to current events in the legislative session and state & national politics.

  • Lead Monthly Donor Program design, growth strategy, and execution, including but not limited to projects like the annual membership card drive. 

  • Coordinate and collaborate with other members of the Development Team and members of the Comms, Operations, and Grassroots Teams to develop and deploy plans and materials to attract new small donors via email, direct mail, social media, website, and phone calls.

  • Spot trends in donor giving patterns through analysis of the donor file, and identify best candidates for larger giving or monthly giving. 

  • Work closely with other Development Team members and the direct mail contractor and caging company with the goal of modifying and improving donor experience as well as developing campaign materials with an eye on growth of the program and donor retention.

  • Analyze key performance indicators related to the fundraising program found in the Dashboard in Salesforce for improving and growing the program.

  • Provide regular reports on program performance, trends and opportunities for improvement.

  • Use data to inform decision-making and adjust strategies for optimal results.

  • Provide data to the communications team to update the website quarterly.

Qualifications
  • 1-3 years of experience in Customer Service or Development with a focus on monthly donor programs and projects preferred.

  • Experience in systems such as Google Suites, Salesforce or similar DMS, Slack, Anedot, and other merchant processing systems and extensive working knowledge of technology with the ability to troubleshoot basic tech issues.

  • 1-3 years of experience in data analysis with the ability to communicate trends and develop appropriate actions as a result.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
