A fast-growing daily news podcast, is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable back-up Podcast Editor for two nights a week and as additional coverage for the Senior Sound Editor.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sound design and the ability to enhance audio quality for various media projects. This role requires exceptional attention to detail and creative problem-solving skills to deliver high-quality audio productions. Applicant may not live in time zones GMT -1 to -7.

The Wright Report is a weekday morning news podcast that blends domestic and international headlines with insightful analysis and opinion. Hosted by Byran Dean Wright, a former CIA Ops Officer, the show simplifies complex events to make the news accessible, factual, and relevant to everyday Americans.

As the Host expands and grows the podcast, he seeks a team that is loyal, professional, gracious, detail oriented, industrious, and humble. Personalities that fit best include: hard-chargers, logical, reasoned, mission-driven, witty, and appropriately irreverent.

• Edit ~30-minute daily podcast episodes, cleaning up audio for clarity, pacing, and flow.

• Turn around final edits within a tight evening deadline (10 PM - 12 AM PST)

• Collaborate with production team to understand creative vision and implement appropriate sound design elements

• Maintain secure file handling and confidentiality per NDA agreement

• Operate Adobe Premiere and Audition to clean, enhance, and finalize audio content

• Ensure consistency in audio levels and quality across episodes

• Portfolio demonstrating previous sound editing work across different media formats

• Ability to work under tight deadlines while maintaining quality standards

• Proven experience editing podcasts or audio for broadcast/publication

• Proficiency in industry-standard editing tools (e.g., Audition, Pro Tools, Descript, etc.)

• Strong sense of pacing and storytelling in spoken audio

• Excellent attention to detail and deadlines

• Ability to take feedback and iterate quickly
