Funding SpecialistVAUSA
The Funding Specialist is responsible for managing and executing the financial authorization and claims process to ensure timely and accurate reimbursement for services provided. This position plays a critical role in verifying insurance coverage, obtaining authorizations, submitting and tracking claims, and providing administrative support to both clients and clinicians. The ideal candidate demonstrates attention to detail, strong problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to excellent customer service.
Accurately enter client and insurance information into internal systems
Verify patient insurance eligibility and coverage for services
Review records for accuracy and completeness
Obtain necessary precertification and prior authorizations for scheduled services
Submit professional healthcare claims and track their progress
Identify and resolve claim rejections or denials in a timely manner
Apply critical thinking and judgment to address issues within the claims process
Communicate professionally with clients, families, and clinical staff via phone and email
Maintain thorough and organized documentation of funding activities
Support the clinical team and administrative staff with insurance-related inquiries
Perform other duties as assigned by management
Associate’s degree or higher, or equivalent experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data entry systems
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
Discretion in handling confidential patient and financial information
