Whaler’s Cove Lodge is a seasonal outdoor recreation business that hosts up to 32 Guests per day, for
a 3–4‐month operating season in Alaska and an 8–9‐month administrative season in Montana. We
operate with a year‐round staff of 3, with the support of shareholders, and an operational seasonal staff

We're looking for someone with 5-15 years of experience in a high level management position to lead our hospitality team and property operations. The ideal candidate will bring extensive hospitality management expertise and proven revenue optimization skills. You'll oversee a dedicated team while ensuring exceptional guest experiences and maintaining operational standards. This role requires strong budgeting capabilities and effective staff supervision to drive both guest satisfaction and financial performance.
This is a truly remote position. Whaler’s Cove Lodge is located on Killisnoo Island, accessible only by charter plane or ferry. There are no stores, shops, or bars, and internet and cell service are extremely limited. Crew live on-site for the season with modest accommodations (private rooms, shared bathrooms for most). The island is surrounded by wilderness, wildlife, and ocean — breathtaking but rugged — with daily rain, cool temperatures, and limited conveniences. Candidates must be prepared for isolation, self-directed recreation, and the realities of living and working in a remote Alaskan environment for 3+ months.
While it is preferred that the Lodge Director reside in Montana during the administrative season, strong candidates from other states will also be considered if they can demonstrate excellent communication skills, proven remote work effectiveness, and proficient remote work tech skills.
