We're looking for someone with 7-15 years of experience as a Tax Manager to be responsible for the efficient, accurate, complete, and timely preparation of all clients' tax returns whether prepared personally or by supervision of others. Advanced technical skills in a variety of tax and accounting areas, along with well-developed and applied management and supervisory skills are required. The Tax Manager may have input on any tax issue presented.
Interfaces directly with clients without partner involvement.
Schedules and oversees field work and preparation of compilation and review financial statement engagements.
Reviews tax returns and financial statements and enforces competency in technical skills, work quality, and application of professional and excellence in firm standards.
Prepares complex business and individual tax returns and tax planning without partner involvement.
Reviews financial statement reports, including footnotes ready for partner signature.
Performs the broadest range of accounting tasks so that direct participation of partners is kept to a minimum.
Performs technical tax review and approval of all tax returns and governmental tax examinations of any complexity.
Assumes full responsibility for larger tax returns, and tax research and delegates to the various tax preparers as deemed necessary.
Acts as a resource for tax preparers and staff on specific tax issues and/or questions.
Communicates to the appropriate firm personnel important tax and tax developments affecting the firm’s clients.
Delegates and manages governmental tax examinations; may represent the client before appropriate tax authorities.
Works to develop responsibility, train staff by assisting in recruiting, performance evaluations, developing training aids, and acting as an instructor in professional development programs.
Possesses a complete knowledge of the firm’s philosophy and it’s opinions on tax matters.
Maintains a knowledge of general economic and political trends of possible tax and other legislation that can affect the business climate.
Participates in firm’s practice development efforts through involvement with referral sources, community, and industry activities.

Responsible for leading and overseeing assigned aspects of firm management and initiatives
Tax and financial statement projects are complete and ready for partner signature
Experienced in preparing and leading team meetings
- Experienced in tax management of LLCs•3+ years
- Member of the American Institute of CPAs
- CPA or EA
- Public Accounting•3+ years
- Degree in Accounting
- Strong knowledge of tax laws and regulations
- Tax preparation software experience
- Proficiency in CCH Axcess
- Master's Degree in Taxation
Occasional same day travel for work at client's offices, meetings, and seminars using a personal vehicle.
Overtime work required from January to April 15, a maximum of 55 hours per week. Occasional overtime work is required throughout the remainder of the year.
