Senior-Level Facility EngineerPatmos
We're hiring senior-level facility engineers to lead the design, operation, and optimization of mission-critical MEP systems that power our high-density AI and colocation data centers. You'll serve as the technical lead responsible for maintaining uptime and improving the performance of facility infrastructure supporting both HPC workloads and traditional colocation environments.
This role demands hands-on expertise in redundant electrical systems (A/B power, STS, UPS, generators) and high-capacity mechanical systems (CRAHs, chilled water, DX cooling). You'll own the full lifecycle of our MEP systems, from daily operations to capital upgrades and audit readiness. What You’ll Do
Own the operation, and lifecycle of MEP systems across one or more high-availability data centers—including UPS systems, PDUs, switchgear, backup generators, CRAHs, CRACs, chillers, STSs, and BMS/EPMS controls.
Lead and execute root cause analysis, maintenance planning, and live failover testing of Tier III+ infrastructure, ensuring zero impact to customer workloads.
Manage vendor relationships and oversee on-site contractor work, including commissioning agents, power quality consultants, and specialized mechanical and electrical subcontractors.
Respond to infrastructure incidents, leading post-incident forensics, generating failure reports, and driving corrective action plans to resolution.
Maintain clear, audit-ready documentation, including updated electrical single-lines, commissioning checklists, IR scan logs, and preventive maintenance records to support SOC 2, PCI, and HIPAA compliance requirements.
Identify and implement infrastructure improvements focused on energy efficiency (e.g., economization, load shifting), increased density (kW/sqft), and risk mitigation strategies.
Contribute to capital planning and lifecycle strategy, supporting MEP system upgrades and utility coordination (e.g., transformer upgrades, primary voltage feeds, capacity expansions).

What You Bring
Required:
Strong hands-on experience operating and troubleshooting commercial/industrial-grade systems such as 3-phase electrical distribution, paralleling switchgear, diesel generators, static transfer switches (STS), and chilled water or DX cooling systems.
Proven ability to work independently in complex environments, owning tasks from diagnostics to resolution without excessive oversight.
Experience managing infrastructure projects or vendors on live systems, including coordination with contractors, utilities, and internal teams during upgrades or maintenance windows.
Comfort and reliability in high-availability environments, with a track record of performance in systems requiring 99.999% uptime (e.g., Tier III+ data centers, hospitals, telecom facilities).
Strong communication and documentation skills, with the ability to maintain accurate records, procedures, and logs used for internal operations and compliance.
Preferred:
Trade license or technical certification (e.g., Journeyman Electrician, HVAC/R certification, Mechanical license).
Experience with infrastructure commissioning, regulatory compliance, or operational frameworks such as SOC 2, OSHA, and data center best practices.
Familiarity with industry standards and tools, including NFPA 70E, ASHRAE guidelines, Uptime Institute Tier standards, and DCIM platforms like Sunbird, Schneider EcoStruxure, or comparable systems.
