Are you a film enthusiast with a flair for creative marketing?

Join us at ZIFF, a new volunteer-run non-profit celebrating independent films and authentic storytelling, as our Marketing Director (Volunteer). This role is your chance to shape the festival’s outreach, connect with a passionate community, and elevate the film experience in the Pacific Northwest.

Responsibilities

Strategic Marketing & Campaign Development

  • Collaborate with leadership to define and implement the festival’s marketing vision.

  • Conduct market research on film trends and audience insights to shape impactful campaigns.

  • Develop comprehensive marketing plans with clear goals, timelines, and resource oversight.

Digital & Social Media Management

  • Oversee website content, social media profiles, and email campaigns to ensure brand consistency.

  • Create engaging digital content—blog posts to video teasers—that tells the ZIFF story.

  • Monitor online engagement using analytics tools and adjust strategies as needed.

Public Relations & Media Outreach

  • Craft press releases and media kits that spotlight festival highlights and special events.

  • Build and maintain relationships with media outlets, influencers, and community partners.

  • Coordinate PR events and manage any emerging public relations challenges.

Event Promotion & Local Engagement

  • Plan and execute promotional campaigns for film screenings, workshops, and panel discussions.

  • Oversee the creation and distribution of creative promotional materials.

  • Partner with local businesses and cultural organizations to maximize event reach.

Performance Analysis & Continuous Improvement

  • Track and report on campaign performance using key metrics.

  • Gather feedback from audiences and partners to refine future marketing strategies.

Qualifications
  • Proven experience in marketing, communications, or a related field.

  • A deep passion for film and storytelling.

  • Strong digital marketing skills with proficiency in social media management and content creation.

  • Superior verbal and written communication, organizational, and leadership abilities.

  • Creative thinker with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

  • Experience in non-profit or cultural event marketing is a plus.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Minimum age of 18.

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
