The Sales Associate is responsible for delivering outstanding customer service in a firearms retail environment. This role involves engaging with customers, assisting with product selection, ensuring compliance with all applicable firearm laws, and maintaining a safe and professional retail space.
This is an hourly + commission position.
Greet and assist customers in a knowledgeable, friendly, and respectful manner.
Provide detailed product information on firearms, ammunition, accessories, and services.
Guide customers through the firearm purchasing process, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (including 4473 and background check procedures).
Maintain accurate records and documentation for all firearm transactions.
Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system for sales and returns.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sales floor, displays, and merchandise.
Assist with inventory management, restocking, and product labeling.
Stay up-to-date with current firearms laws, safety procedures, and product knowledge.
Resolve customer concerns and escalate issues as necessary to management.
Foster a safe and respectful environment for both staff and customers.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to overcome objections and find solutions for customers
Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
1–2 years of retail or customer service experience, preferably in a firearms or sporting goods environment.
Must be legally able to possess firearms and pass all required background checks.
Familiarity with firearms and/or willingness to complete product and compliance training.
