Saw OperatorSparrow Product Development, Inc.

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Saw Operator to join our machine shop team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating industrial saws (horizontal band saws, vertical saws, or cold saws), reading blueprints or cut lists, and working with metal or other industrial materials. This role is vital to our production workflow and requires a strong focus on safety, accuracy, and efficiency.

• Set up, operate, and maintain saw equipment to cut raw materials to required specifications:
• CNC cold saw
• Manual cold saw
• Manual high-RPM chop saw
• Operate part finishing equipment, such as a tumbler
• Measure and verify dimensions of materials before and after cutting.
• Interpret work orders, cut lists,
• Select appropriate materials and tools for each job.
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of saw equipment.
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
• Organize and label cut materials for delivery to machining or fabrication departments.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area at all times.
• Assist with material handling, inventory, or other shop duties as needed.
• Assist with CNC machine setup, including:
• Tool changes
• Adjusting part and tool length offsets
• Loading and proving programs
• Support various production and shop tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

·       Familiarity with industrial saws (band saws, cold saws, etc.).

·       Basic math and measurement skills (use of calipers, tape measures, etc.).

·       Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.

·       High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:

·       Previous experience in a machine shop or manufacturing environment.

·       Forklift certification or experience operating material handling equipment.

·       Experience working with steel, aluminum, or other metals.

·       Familiarity with lean manufacturing or 5S practices.
