Job Summary
Unlike a traditional Creative Director role at an agency that oversees a creative department, the Creative Director role at our animation studio oversees the creative aspects of video projects. Equal parts writer, project manager, and director, the Associate Creative Director guides the overall creative process and shapes the work through close client collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Key client point person on the creative team - you bring energy to lead the discussion for every client call, earn trust from the client, and make sure client's needs for the video (i.e. product education, trade show booth content, etc.) are fulfilled by the video.
- Creative Visionary – You are responsible for developing and communicating the vision for each project in a way that is clear and accessible to both clients and production artists, effectively conveying the story you aim to tell.
- Persuasive communicator - you pitch, give reasoning for, and persuade clients on the best way to tell their story.
- Organized leader - you will need to work with account managers and the production department to coordinate potentially dozens of projects at once, making sure each client deliverable is completed on-time, on-budget and at high quality.
- Strategic thinker and creative problem-solver on every project - both internally and externally
- Writer of clear, compelling scripts
- Good design sense/taste - you might not have the technical skills to make things but you have opinions about, and can cast vision for, the art
- Work alongside the art director to give clear, actionable direction and feedback to technicians – i.e., storyboard artists, illustrators, animators and music composers, etc.
