We are looking to hire a Controller who will play a critical role in managing the company's financial operations and ensuring compliance with all legal financial requirements. This role involves overseeing accounting processes, ensuring revenue and cost accuracy, reconciling the balance sheet, closing the books, and supervising staff. This will be done both independently and in close collaboration with the CFO and CEO to drive financial performance and strategic initiatives.
Maintain accurate project-level and consolidated job accounting records
Oversee monthly and annual book closings, financial reporting, and account reconciliation
Ensure compliance with all legal financial filings, regulatory standards, and banking requirements
Lead, mentor, and support accounting staff to foster a high-performance work environment and facilitate education and career development
Manage payroll processes, bank accounts, retirement plans, profit-sharing programs, and escrow accounts
Develop and manage annual operational and capital expenditure budgets with the CFO; present financial reports to executive leadership
Provide strategic advice to CFO on financial matters, including cost control, product pricing, and financial planning
Implement and oversee a Just-In-Time (JIT) purchasing program to improve inventory control
Serve as a liaison with bankers, external CPAs, and executive leadership on financial matters
A strong working knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and compliance to ensure accurate and reliable financial management
Strong ability to analyze complex financial data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights, while proactively addressing issues
Ability to handle sensitive financial information with discretion and maintain high ethical standards
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, enabling clear and effective dissemination of financial information to stakeholders and team members
Demonstrates resilience and adaptability under pressure, while maintaining a high level of professionalism in appearance and conduct
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- Progressive Accounting experience in a senior role•5+ years
- Proficiency in accounting software, including QuickBooks Enterprise or other manufacturing-related cost accounting systems
- Knowledge of effective JIT purchasing systems and practices
- Proven experience in leading and mentoring accounting staff, fostering professional growth, and ensuring high team performance
- Willingness to travel and work extended hours as necessary to meet business needs and project deadlines
- CPA or MBA
- Base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range, which will depend on your skills and qualifications, and the base pay for this role is between $60,000 and $90,000
