We're looking for someone with 5+ years of produce industry experience to join our team as a Buyer. This position will be responsible for the full scope of buying responsibilities for various commodities, including inventory management, customer fill rates, product quality measures, pricing controls, vendor relationships, and achieving product margin targets.

• Analyze market conditions, seasonality, holidays, and trends to determine purchasing needs
• Monitor sales records, economic conditions, and consumer-buying patterns to manage inventory levels
• Examine, select, and purchase products at optimal pricing while maintaining quality and quantity standards
• Establish and maintain relationships with growers, shippers, brokers, and suppliers
• Negotiate pricing, structured FOBs, and purchasing agreements to ensure value and availability
• Coordinate logistics and arrange timely pick-ups from supplier locations
• Maintain up-to-date pricing, assist sales teams with quotes, and communicate product updates
• Oversee perishable inventory, review sales data, and create purchase orders for replenishment
• Ensure compliance with food safety standards and maintain necessary documentation
• Research and source new vendors based on pricing, availability, and product quality
• Address billing discrepancies, process credits, and facilitate vendor inspections
• Manage specialty orders and research unique product requests
