Job Summary

As we embark on an ambitious growth strategy, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced National Sales Manager for our Residential sales team.

The National Sales Manager will play a pivotal role in driving the company’s growth strategy. This role will oversee all operational aspects of outside Residential Sales for the kitchen & bath and lighting industries, ensuring efficiency, quality, and profitability.

The ideal candidate is currently a National Sales Manager within the Kitchen & Bath Dealer/Showroom Industry. The National Sales Manager will be accountable for executing the primary operational objectives of the company and will report directly to the CEO. A strong candidate will strike a balance between operational business experience and management within a professional, family-oriented culture.

This position is responsible for overseeing the residential sale of luxury bathroom products across the United States and Canada. The National Sales Manager will provide strategic leadership, direction, and support to Residential Kitchen & Bath and Lighting Representative Firms, driving growth and ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction on a national scale. The role requires extensive, high-level Residential experience and the ability to manage large, diverse territories across the country.

Responsibilities

National Sales Strategy & Leadership:

Develops and implements sales strategies to increase sales revenue and meet national targets. Provides leadership and direction to Independent Residential Reps across all territories. Ensures consistent, high-level customer satisfaction by guiding reps through organizational planning, account strategies, and territory management.

 

Training, Development, & Sales Support:

Leads national sales orientation and ongoing training programs for Residential Reps. Acts as a resource for reps on contract opportunities, proposals, proformas, and contract negotiations. Supports reps in closing sales, creating marketing plans for contract accounts, and optimizing sales opportunities on a national level.

National Sales Events & Exhibits:

Plans and coordinates national sales exhibits and attends key trade shows across the country. Participate in national education and training conferences to enhance sales knowledge and marketing strategies. Coordinates and leads national sales meetings, including site selection, agenda preparation, and presentation.

Market Research & Competitive Intelligence:

Keeps informed of new products, services, and trends relevant to customers on a national scale. Monitors competitive activity across regions and develops strategies to assist reps in securing new accounts and increasing market penetration.

Additional Key Responsibilities:

Sales Forecasting & Budget Management:

  • Sales Forecasting: Develop and manage accurate sales forecasts for national territories, ensuring alignment with company goals. Regularly update forecasts and provide necessary adjustments to stay on target

  • Budget Management: Work with senior management to set and manage the national sales budget. Track expenses and ensure that sales activities are cost-effective and within budget constraints

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Collaboration with Marketing and Product Teams: Work closely with the marketing and product development teams to align sales efforts with marketing campaigns, new product launches, and promotional initiatives. Ensure that sales strategies are informed by the latest product features and marketing insights to drive effective sales

  • Collaboration with Operations & Customer Service: Partner with operations and customer service teams to ensure seamless order fulfillment, customer satisfaction, and post-sale support, particularly for large national accounts

Key Account Management & Relationship Building:

  • National Key Accounts: Lead the management of relationships with key national accounts and high-value customers, ensuring their needs are met and fostering long-term partnerships

  • Executive-Level Relationships: Cultivate and maintain relationships with senior executives and decision-makers at major national customers, ensuring alignment and customer loyalty at the highest level

Performance Metrics & Reporting:

  • KPI Monitoring: Regularly track and report on sales performance against key performance indicators (KPIs) such as revenue growth, sales conversion rates, and customer acquisition. Use data to analyze trends and adjust strategies as necessary

  • Quarterly & Annual Reviews: Provide detailed quarterly and annual sales performance reviews to senior management, highlighting achievements, challenges, and areas for improvement

Sales Process Improvement:

  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to the sales process to increase efficiency, reduce cycle times, and improve conversion rates

  • Best Practices Development: Establish and promote best practices across the sales team, ensuring that all representatives follow the most effective strategies and processes for success

Competitive Intelligence & Market Insights:

  • Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market research to identify emerging trends, customer needs, and competitor strategies. Leverage this information to adjust sales strategies and stay competitive in the market

  • Pricing Strategy: Collaborate with senior management to develop and refine national pricing strategies informed by market conditions, competitor pricing, and customer feedback

  • Analytical Mindset: Ability to analyze sales data and metrics, interpret insights, and make data-driven decisions

  • Cultural Awareness: Ability to understand and adapt to regional cultural differences, ensuring tailored strategies that resonate with diverse customer bases across the country

Qualifications
  • Proven track record of managing diverse bathroom product offerings

  • Strong organizational skills

  • In-depth knowledge of the company’s needs and product capabilities

  • Excellent formal presentation skills, with experience speaking to small and large groups

  • A strong ability to keep up-to-date with new design and technology trends and to apply this knowledge to real-world projects on a national level

  • Experience coaching and mentoring sales teams and regional sales members

Travel

This position is remote work and may require up to 50% travel, including frequent national travel to meet with clients, attend trade shows, and support reps across various regions.
