CHILDREN'S INTERNET SAFETY STATE PROGRAM DIRECTOR - VIRGINIAEnough Is Enough
We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Statewide Program Coordinator to lead and coordinate a public awareness, education and training multidimensional initiative in Virginia. This is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of individuals and families by promoting digital safety and educating the community to prioritize the safety of children and youth in the digital world.
This is a full time position with a start date of February 2025. You will work from a remote office, however, candidates should reside in the Washington D.C. or Richmond, Virginia areas. This position is initially offered as a one to two-year term, with the possibility of extension contingent upon funding, performance and organizational needs. Reports directly to EIE national leadership.
The goal is to make Virginia’s children and families safer online by increasing, through education and awareness, the capacity of law enforcement, parents, caregivers, other NGO’s, policy makers, faith based and community leaders to identify, prevent and respond to the dangers of childhood online exploitation.
1.Project Planning and Execution:
- Work with EIE leadership to develop a comprehensive project plan outlining goals, strategies, and timelines for the public awareness, education and training initiative in Virginia.
- Coordinate and oversee all project activities, ensuring efficient implementation and timely completion.
- Build relationships with stakeholders to establish partnerships and collaboration with stakeholders, including government agencies, law enforcement agencies, community organizations, corporate leaders, faith communities and educational institutions to ensure project alignment and maximize impact.
2.Community Outreach and Engagement:
- Work with EIE leadership to establish and maintain strong relationships with local communities, key organizations, relevant stakeholders, donors and foundations to promote the project and garner support.
- Organize community outreach opportunities and conduct internet safety training, presentations, workshops, and training sessions utilizing EIE’s training and education materials to educate the public about online safety, the risks of pornography, and other internet-related concerns.
- Conduct train-the-trainer workshops for law enforcement agencies, government and nongovernment entities, and community leaders to equip participants to be able to take EIE’s curriculum directly into local communities.
- Work closely with schools, parents, law enforcement and community groups to develop and implement awareness campaigns and initiatives tailored to the specific needs of Virginia.
3.Content Development and Dissemination:
- Work with the EIE team to create engaging and informative materials, including brochures, fact sheets, videos, and social media content, to raise awareness about online risks and promote responsible digital citizenship.
- Collaborate with the communications team to develop targeted messaging strategies for various audiences and channels.
- Coordinate the distribution and dissemination of educational materials through partnerships, events, and online platforms.
4.Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting:
- Implement a monitoring and evaluation system to measure the project's progress and impact; and report appropriately to EIE leadership.
- Prepare regular progress reports, capturing key metrics, achievements, challenges, and lessons learned.
- Provide timely updates to project stakeholders and contribute to organizational reporting requirements.
5.Team Management and Collaboration:
- Recruit, train, and manage a team of volunteers and project staff to support program implementation and community outreach efforts.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment, promoting teamwork and professional development among team members.

- Bachelor's degree, or its equivalent, in a relevant field (e.g., criminal justice, criminology, law, cybersecurity, communications, public relations, policy, social work, education, or related field).
- Must possess a demonstrable and proven background in one or more of the following areas: law enforcement, criminal justice, criminology, public policy, government relations and legislative affairs.
- Proven experience in program coordination, project management, or a related role, ideally within the non-profit sector.
- Strong understanding of internet safety issues, online child protection, and the risks associated with pornography, child sex abuse content, sexual predation and trafficking, cyberbullying, sextortion, online gaming and social media.
- Excellent writing, verbal communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences and deliver compelling messages. Must be comfortable with public speaking!
- Media relations experience is desired.
- Must be comfortable engaging with government, corporate, faith leaders, as well as law enforcement officials and concerned parents.
- Demonstrated experience in community outreach and stakeholder engagement.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in using digital tools and platforms for content creation, dissemination, and social media management.
- Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
- Knowledge of Virginia communities, education systems, laws, policies, and local networks is highly desirable.
