Job Summary

We're looking for someone with 2-5 years of experience as a Controls Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, installing, and commissioning control systems, including PLC, HMI, and VFD systems. This role involves working with a team on projects from start to finish, encompassing design, equipment specification documentation, testing, and implementation for some of the largest manufacturers in North America.

Responsibilities
  • Design, install, and commission control systems including PLC, HMI, and VFD systems using developed standards
  • Develop and document equipment specifications and functional descriptions for custom automated control systems
  • Conduct testing and implementation of control systems
Qualifications
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently on complex automation projects
  • Ability to travel within the US for meetings, project investigations, implementations, and occasional troubleshooting
  • Personable and team-oriented
  • Mechanical aptitude
Requirements
  • AutoCAD
  • Proven experience with Rockwell Automation's Studio 5000 ControlLogix PLC2 - 5 years
  • Experience with Ladder, Block, and Structured Text languages and their HMI platforms
  • Understanding of AC and DC motors and drives
  • Ethernet IP and Ethernet TCP communication protocols
  • Ability to work remotely 70% of the time, with 30% on-site for review and installation
  • Capable of passing annual drug tests
Nice to Have
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related professional education
  • Experience with industrial machinery and their static dynamic characteristics
  • Experience in paper or web handling
  • Rockwell Automation ControlLogix, SLC, and PLC 5
  • ABB ACS/DCS and Rockwell PowerFlex Series
