As a Senior Accountant and Compliance Specialist, you will be responsible for managing financial operations, ensuring compliance, and overseeing FEC reporting for political entities. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and strong communication skills to manage client expectations while ensuring compliance with financial regulations. You will play a key role in our clients’ success through compliance and financial oversight.
Client & Financial Management
- Serve as the primary accounting contact for assigned clients, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations, helping clients understand their financial position.
- Manage day-to-day cash accounting, accounts payable (A/P), accounts receivable (A/R), bank accounts, credit cards, and payroll for clients.
FEC & Compliance Reporting
- Prepare and file FEC reports, ensuring full compliance with federal deadlines.
- Maintain audit-ready financial records, ensuring transactions are properly documented.
- Assist clients in navigating political finance regulations and industry-specific requirements.
Technology & Process Improvement
- Utilize industry leading accounting and compliance software.
- Implement best practices for financial processes to improve efficiency and reduce compliance risk.
- Collaborate with internal teams to enhance reporting tools and workflows.
Onboarding & Development
- Participate in a structured training program, gaining expertise in financial operations and compliance, which will ensure comprehensive readiness for specialized work in our field.
- Work closely with team leads to ensure smooth client transitions and service delivery.
Performance & Growth
- Maintain an average of 140 billable hours per month.
- Participate in client meetings, financial reviews, and compliance discussions.
- Have the opportunity to advance into leadership role or continue as a high-performing specialist.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred (CPA is a plus but not required).
- 6-10 years of accounting experience, preferably in a client-facing or professional services environment.
- Experience with FEC compliance, political finance, or campaign accounting is highly desirable but not required.
