We're looking for someone with 3+ years of experience managing finances professionally. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business systems administration, management, and supervisory roles. This position requires expertise in financial management, including audit oversight and budget development. The Controller will supervise staff, direct the finance and accounting office, and support the General Manager/VP of Operations in fulfilling the organization's fiscal responsibilities.
- Develop, monitor, and enforce financial policies and procedures to support sound decision-making
- Implement and manage internal controls to protect the organization's financial integrity and maintain financial confidentiality
- Maximize returns and limit risk on cash and investments
- Oversee key accounting functions, including accounts payable and receivable, bank account management, cash receipt and disbursement controls, journal entries, account reconciliations, and fixed assets
- Prepare monthly financial statements, cash flow projections, and supplemental financial reports
- Ensure compliance with donor instructions for restricted assets, and oversee annual budget preparation, variance analysis, and corrective actions
- Manage the annual financial audit and prepare necessary supporting documents
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations and registrations
- Attend educational workshops, review professional publications, and engage with professional networks
- Provide coaching and performance evaluations for financial staff while maintaining a collaborative relationship with all departments
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Demonstrated commitment to biblical Christian principles and teachings
- Experienced analytical abilities
- Accounting and financial software experience
- Accounting degree
