Field Service TechnicianCoalmont Electrical Development
We're looking for someone with experience as a Field Service Technician to join our team and do hands-on industrial, electrical, and mechanical fieldwork. The position requires working independently and within engineering teams to successfully complete projects based on sound engineering practices, customer specifications, and expectations. Our systems include power distribution, mining, manufacturing, production, and occasional project management for special heavy industry projects. - Troubleshoot, install, and commission industrial control and automation systems, including coordinated drive systems, control panels, PLCs, and instruments
- Perform calibration, programming, tuning, and general troubleshooting of industrial systems
- Work both independently and within engineering teams to successfully complete projects based on sound engineering practices, customer specifications, and expectations
- Career-oriented mindset and strong team player
- Strong problem-solving skills for root cause analysis in electrical control panels
- Knowledge of industrial safety and design standards
- Hands-on experience with electrical testing tools and troubleshooting
- Ability to travel up to 70% of the time, including occasional nights and weekends
- Hands-on experience with the design, troubleshooting, and respective code requirements of various industrial control and safety systems•1 - 4 years
- Willing to work overtime
- Understanding of various industrial Ethernet/IP and Profinet network designs
- Experience programming ABB, Rockwell, Siemens, Emerson, DCS Systems, Drives, and Controls
- Can demonstrate an understanding of drive design, control algorithms, and regulators
- Electrical control panel troubleshooting and root cause analysis with the ability to critically think through problem causes
- Familiarity with safety and design standards like NFPA, NEC, OSHA, MSHA, and others
- Knowledge of various electrical schematics, CAD, and Solid Works drawings
- Knowledge of industrial communication protocols, fiber optics, and instrumental networks
- Can demonstrate an understanding of 3-phase low and medium voltage power systems, transformers, protection, and NEC/NFPA code principles
- Experience with the installation, tuning, commissioning, and troubleshooting of AC/DC drive systems and motors
- Competency in the use of various electrical meters, meggers, hi-pots, and oscilloscopes
