We're looking for someone with 5+ years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer. This role involves developing technical solutions for complex mechanical and electro-mechanical systems for defense applications. You'll be responsible for designing, integrating, and testing various systems while preparing technical reports and presentations for Engineering Review Boards. This role requires creativity, analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams.
- Design innovative mechanical solutions for electronic packages using current CAD tools
- Apply thermal design practices to develop mechanical solutions for thermal environments
- Apply structural design practices to address shock and vibration load challenges
- Validate mechanical and electro-mechanical designs through prototyping and testing
- Develop and maintain mechanical engineering drawings
- Create technical justification analysis reports and deliver presentations to Engineering Review Boards concerning hardware dispositions and proposed technical data package updates
- Collaborate effectively within multi-disciplinary teams, including engineering, operations, and the customer
- Ability to design and analyze small to large precision mechanical assemblies & structures, as well as cooling solutions for heat loads up to 100 KW or more
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively when developing technical solutions
- Strong communication skills to effectively present complex technical information to various stakeholders
- Capable of working collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team environment
- Hands-on assembly of mechanical and electro-mechanical subsystems
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Ability to obtain DoD security clearance
- Knowledge of metal and non-metal materials
- Relevant work experience•5+ years
- U.S. citizenship
- Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance
- SolidWorks CAD solid modeling tools and analysis tools
- Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Experience with PDM software
- Knowledge of machining and tool design
- Experience with AFT Fathom or similar pipe flow software
