Job Summary

We're looking for someone with 7+ years of experience in fundraising to join us as a Major Gifts Officer at the University of Dallas. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in closing major gifts and deepening donor relationships. Performance metrics are weighted by annual: face-to-face visits, closed opportunities, and cash-in-the-door. Travel is expected 30-40% of the month, in addition to staffing on-campus events in Irving, TX, often in the evening and occasionally on weekends. One or two work from home days per week can be earned through superior performance, assessed quarterly. 

Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute strategies to increase major gifts, focusing on contributions of $50,000 or more
  • Identify, qualify, and manage a portfolio of major gift prospects and donors to secure operating, endowment, campaign, and planned gifts
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with donors and prospects, implementing tailored solicitation and stewardship plans
  • Partner with Development team members to maximize fundraising efforts and identify prospects in key regional markets
  • Represent the university at events and activities, engaging alumni, parents, and friends to foster philanthropic support
  • Contribute to qualifying 750–1000 major gift prospects annually, supporting team goals and long-term campaign strategies

  • Adaptability to a performance-driven environment with clear metrics and goals
  • Ability to think strategically and creatively about how to develop and implement new programs that meet the needs of various constituencies
  • Capable of determining goals and setting priorities
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Development experience in higher education or non-profit sector
  • Excellent written, communication, and organizational skills
  • Experience in a related role with a demonstrated track record of successfully closing major gifts7+ years
  • Passion for Catholic liberal arts education and ability to articulate its value
  • Willingness to travel frequently and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
Nice to Have
  • Experience with planned and estate giving
  • Raiser's Edge, Salesforce, or related fundraising CRM
