Job Summary

We're looking for someone with 1-8 years of experience as a Business Manager to join our team. Exclusive Events, Inc. is an Event Design and Production Company that fabricates set and furniture pieces for all social and corporate events. Exclusive Events, Inc. employs technicians familiar with theater lighting, carpenters, scenic artists, craft and fabric artisans, and event designers on a full-time basis. Exclusive Events, Inc.'s fabrication shop and warehouse are located in the suburbs of St. Louis, MO.

Job Requirements

Business Manager

 

·      Examine new opportunities in current or potential markets

·      Assist with budget preparation

·      Assist with recruitment and onboarding new hires

·      Supervise employee productivity and provide internal processes for improvement and efficiency

·      Support customer facing operations, including sales, marketing, and public relations

·      Overseeing employee training, performance and tasks

·      Keep track of employee birthdays and organize office parties/meals

·      Will assist with updating our operational and rental data base system

·      Assist with collection and GL coding of receipts for accounting department

·      Open and scan invoices and check to accounting department

·      Communicate with Property Manager for needed repairs or issues to property

·      Purchase and maintain office supplies

·      Payroll data entry

·      Meet with employees to gauge personal and professional needs

·      Keeping our client facing office clean and uncluttered

·      Managing and providing assistance to our key departments: i.e. Scene shop, Paint space, Fabric dept and Operations.

·      Daily communication with staff and upcoming events/projects

·      Managing things like vehicle registration and safety inspections

·      Booking rooms, airfare and transportation

·      Carrying out background research for upcoming events

·      Maintaining marketing materials for conferences and conventions

·      Dealing with incoming email, texts, postal mail, often corresponding on behalf of the manager

·      Screening phone calls, inquiries and requests, and handling them when appropriate

·      Deputizing for the manager, making decisions and delegating work to others in the manager's absence

·      Arrange MO Dot physicals for covered employees

·      Organizing and attending meetings and ensuring the manager is well prepared for meetings

·      Being actively involved in decision-making processes

·      Write thank you notes to clients, and purchase gifts to clients when needed

·      Handle holiday card and gift purchase

·      Communication conduit between employee and manager/owner

*Three or more years of experience in business management or similar role

*Superior leadership, with focus on employee coaching and development

 

Compensation and Benefits:

Yearly starting compensation between 55,000 and 65,000 congruent with experience. This position is Tuesday through Friday 8-5, with a three-day weekend. Individual health and dental benefits are provided at start date, 401K with up to a 4 percent match at one year employment.

 

Other:

The ideal candidate must be physically fit enough to endure walking and lightweight physical activity. The ideal candidate will be exposed to private information and must have the utmost discretion and ability to keep confidential information private.
