We are seeking a dedicated, experienced, tax professional to join our firm. The Tax Associate is responsible for communicating with tax clients regarding the preparation of their tax returns, responding to questions, providing tax advice, occasionally preparing, and reviewing tax returns of varying complexity, and identifying and recommending tax strategies to better position the client through their strong understanding of tax law.

Tax Associates work directly under the supervision of a Tax Senior Manager, with additional support of Tax Partners.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Communicate with tax clients regarding tax compliance matters
  • Manage quarterly tasks to ensure tax clients are frequently communicated with
  • Perform initial review of simple returns and basic review of more complicated returns
  • Assist Tax Preparation staff with preparation and technical questions
  • Seek technical answer from Tax Senior Manager or Tax Partners
  • Occasionally prepare tax returns of varying complexity
  • Conduct tax research when necessary
  • Recognize opportunities to provide additional services to existing clients
  • Proactively communicate with other tax team members and clients when necessary

Skills & Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalent field preferred
  • 2+ years of tax compliance experience in public accounting preferred
  • Experienced in most levels of tax return preparation and accounting
  • Experience serving small to medium sized businesses
  • Outstanding collaboration, communication, organization, and analytical skills
  • Capacity to respond positively to change and unanticipated tasks or events
  • Experience in UltraTax, TaxCaddy, and/or Salesforce helpful

Job Type: Full-Time (Phoenix, AZ preferred with hybrid schedule, out-of-state remote working will be considered for the right candidate)

Compensation: $75,000 - $90,000/year plus tax season bonus
