Job Summary: Coordinates consents for medical care, greets the patients, perform vital sign checks, assist physician with patient procedures. Some specimens are collection and prepare for shipping. MA will
maintain laboratory inventory, instruct patients on diabetic medications and treatments, answer patient
concerns, and answer pharmacy orders with direction of the provider. MA will enter computer data
including patient records, appointments, changes of medical status or medication. MA acts as liaison
between provider, third parties, and patient for endocrine specific standards of care as prescribed by the
provider. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. Must be fluent in Spanish and English.
Knowledge Skills, Education & Experience Required • Skills in clinical standard practices in regards to phlebotomy, biospecimen collection, and handling, OSHA • Knowledge of HIPAA data protection and patient advocacy. EKG, vital signs, competency in computer skills and systems use. • Some years’
experience in medical office preferable.
Licensure, Certification, or Registration Medical Assistant or Medical Technician Required • Hepatitis vaccination and tuberculosis screen (preferred)
Job Responsibilities: She/He will demonstrate through behavior; integrity and competency good clinical care practices• collect informed consents and medical information of patients and enter patient data into computer sources and help maintain HIPAA protected database connected to patient information. • Act as a liaison
between staff, patient and other team members to support patient care, with respect to privacy of data
collection and integration into patient medical record. • May be called on to answer patient questions and
concerns through the patient portal. Must have good computer skills and understand systems software.
