Job Description

The Operations Manager is a key person at our next-generation cryptocurrency financial services firm. This person is responsible for several treasury related functions and internal operations and will fulfill a variety of critical duties, including directing the Desk Exchange and Wealth Management Service Lines, AML & Regulatory Compliance, and Directing and Supervising our Software Developer.

Candidate Experience and Background Requirements

Key minimum background requirements include financial industry operations experience, preferably in a retail banking environment. Experience in cash management, treasury operations, branch management or similar; together with experience in AML/KYC and/or BSA Money Service Business compliance or similar regulatory experience; meticulous attention to detail and persistence to complete both short and long term projects. Cryptocurrency knowledge and transactional experience is preferred, but not necessary as the firm will train the successful candidate. This is a self directed position whereupon Ownership will give you the high level objectives and the opportunity and resources to set up systems and complete projects with limited direction.

Treasury Management Duties

  • Operate, maintain and improve the firm’s specialized fiat and crypto treasury management software
  • Operate, maintain and improve the Exchange Desk Order processing system
  • Operate, maintain, cash service and monitor BATM operations
  • Serve as approval authority / second signatory of all outgoing fiat wires/ACH/checks and all customer crypto exchange proceeds transactions
  • Work closely with the bookkeeper to generate routine financial reporting, including weekly Profit & Loss and Cash Flow Statements, monthly Balance Sheets and annual Management Reports
  • Work closely with Ownership to Operate, Maintain and Enhance the firm’s software tech stack used for Exchange Desk Operations, AML/KYC compliance, CRM Database, API Banking, Crypto Wallets, Reporting and more

Anti Money Laundering (AML) and Regulatory Compliance Duties

  • Become the firm’s Chief Compliance Officer as set forth by BSA and FinCEN regulations
  • “Own,” maintain and continuously update the firm’s established AML Policy
  • Research, Analyse and Recommend more streamlined, automated AML / KYC software solutions for the firm’s use in all types of transactions
  • Continuously improve procedures, protocols, processes and record keeping to comply with the firm’s AML Policy
  • Complete and ensure timely delivery of routine BSA E-Filing reports to FinCEN
  • Serve as the firm’s liaison and primary contact for annual 3rd party compliance review/audits of the firm’s AML Policy, Operations and Record Keeping
  • Develop, direct and report corrective actions to the auditor and adjust the firm’s AML Policy and procedures accordingly
  • Responsible for annual audits, renewals and communication to/from the federal regulator and 3rd party auditor(s)
  • Work closely with Ownership to liaise with the firm’s cryptocurrency specialty law firm to assist us with documentation, AML compliance matters, and more

  • LUXOLO is aware this new role at our next-generation financial services company involves lots of new, uncharted territory. Few individuals can claim familiarity, much less mastery of these skills required of this position within the nascent cryptocurrency industry.
  • LUXOLO is a fintech startup and as such, all team members must be prepared to work in a dynamic work environment and possess the ability to wear several hats at any given time.
  • LUXOLO will train the successful candidate. We will embark together and take the first month to orient you regarding the industry and LUXOLO’s market function and growth plans; our internal systems, tools, policies and procedures; and finally your specific role at the firm. In month 2, you will become familiar with our systems and techniques including both their advantages and areas in need of improvement. In month 3 and beyond, you will become a critical team member by providing the operational structure and support to grow the firm to the next tier of revenue performance.

Compensation & Benefits Structure

  • Full Time Employment (M-F 8:00a - 5:00p) at our corporate headquarters at 63 Marginal Way, Portland ME 04101. Remote working is not suitable.
  • Starting Base Salary of $72,000 to $85,000 depending on experience
  • 10 Days per year Paid Time Off
  • Annual Health Expense Stipend that rolls over
  • Mileage Reimbursement
