Position requires excellent customer service skills with patients, employees, and the public. Individual must also be flexible, organized and must be able to manage a demanding workload with accuracy. Self motivated, team player, excellent telephone and computer skills, and friendly demeanor.


Managing high call volumes for a busy medical practice.

Scheduling patient appointments, monitoring and reviewing patient schedules for next day office appointments.

Reminder calls for scheduled appointments.

Obtaining prior authorizations for patient appointments as needed. Scheduling referral appointments.

Obtaining patient demographics and verifying insurance information at each visit.

Identifying and resolving minor patient billing complaints.

Obtaining necessary patient information to meet current Federal guidelines and Meaningful Use guidelines for electronic medical records.

Scanning and faxing pertinent patient information into EMR including patient authorizations, recent labs delivered by patients, etc. Shredding documents

Preparing specimen labels for patient labs.

Collecting co-payments and outstanding balances, including cash, checks, and credit cards and Care Credit.

Scheduling follow-up appointments, and inputting recall notices into EMR as needed. Insuring patient has all necessary paperwork for further testing.

Obtaining patient authorization for medical records release (HIPAA compliance).

Maintaining cleanliness of waiting room.

Assist in ordering, receiving, and stocking office supplies.

Assists all other office staff as needed.

Must have excellent computer and typing skills.

Filing patient charts

Other duties as assigned.


At least one year relevant experience and/or training in medical office settings.


Strong organizational skills.

Strong multi-tasking skills.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as accept direction on given assignments.

Able to work collectively with administration and staff.

Excellent typing and computer skills.'
