Lead Broadcast Engineering TechnicianVector Broadcast

The person in this position will join the Vector Broadcast engineering team in providing contracted technical support to various radio and television clients in Eastern Washington and North Idaho.

The Broadcast Engineering Technician will apply technical expertise in the design, installation, maintenance, calibration, testing, and repair of radio and television transmission facilities and studios. This person will apply troubleshooting skills to build and maintain client trust using technical knowledge and genuine care. Overall, this person thrives in a technical environment and is an excellent problem-solver with organized thinking and test equipment skills. Must be willing to occasionally respond to emergencies after normal work hours and be physically able to access sites that have seasonally limited access. Looking for a self-motivated individual with the skill to organize a productive schedule. Communication skills and personal integrity are essential. You will not experience boredom or monotony as this position involves a vast range of settings that change every day.

·        Respond to equipment alarms and client requests for technical help

·        Analyze problems to identify the specific source and take corrective action

·        Ensure compliance with federal and local regulations and help station personnel with FCC compliance

·        Maintain logs of equipment failures and corrections for each site and system

·        Read and interpret schematic drawings, block diagrams, and equipment manuals in order to identify and repair faulty equipment

·        Provide remote support of various computer systems as needed to keep clients' automation and production systems working efficiently

·        Maintain and update documentation for audio and video systems and network interconnections

·        Configure and maintain Network routers, broadcast remote control systems and interconnects to ensure remote access to equipment interfaces

·        Routine site visits - clean, maintain and inspect transmission chains; Log readings and discrepancies

·        Routinely check logging and monitoring systems to ensure legal and efficient operation of client transmission systems

·        Other duties necessary to meet the needs of the company

·        Ability to use and understand test equipment and tools used in maintenance and repair of radio and television broadcast equipment and systems
