Event Support Specialist ILiberty University
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deliver, set-up and breakdown of staging for university events.
- Deliver, set-up and breakdown of tables and chairs for university events.
- Deliver, set-up and breakdown of pipe/drape for university events.
- Deliver, set-up and breakdown of university materials for university events.
- Clean and assist with routine cleaning and maintenance of equipment.
- Maintain university event materials.
- Be informed of university events and what materials are needed for events on campus.
- Strictly adheres to Liberty University policies, representing the University in an exemplary manner.
- Works effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU’s Christian model and Mission – Training Champions for Christ.
Tier 2
- Train new team members.
- Exercising good judgment, efficacy, productivity, and customer satisfaction when completing work orders.
Event Support Lead
- To be able to communicate with the customer on event support request.
- Manage their assigned zone of event materials and event resources.
- Exercising good judgment, efficacy, productivity, and customer satisfaction when completing work orders.
- Training new team members.
- Organized and accustomed to paying attention to details.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Tier 1

Tier 2
- Periodically supervise 1 or 2 other crew members on small scale tasks.
Event Support Lead
- Supervise Event Support members on tasks of different sizes and scopes.
- Be the point of contact with the customer while on event task.
- Provide leadership in maintaining a safe work environment.
- Help solve problems while on event task.
QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 18 years or older
- Must be able to work in a team environment.
Tier 2
- At least a year and a half experience
- Ability to drive a forklift.
- To obtain LU-approved driver certification, individuals must be 21 years of age or older, possess a valid driver’s license with a minimum of five (5) years of documented driving history, and maintain a clean driving record.
Event Support Lead
- To obtain LU-approved driver certification, individuals must be 21 years of age or older, possess a valid driver’s license with a minimum of five (5) years of documented driving history, and maintain a clean driving record.
- At least 2 years experience
- Ability to drive University vehicles that range from pick-up trucks to 26-ft box trucks.
- Must have experience leading in a team environment.

- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing to convey clear, well articulated information.
- Ability to understand, speak, and write English in order to convey messages and correspond in an articulate and professional manner.
- Possess public communication skills that allow professional representation of Liberty University.
Problem Solving
- Intuitively able to reason, analyze information and events, and apply judgment in order to solve problems of both a routine and complex nature.
Physical and Sensory Abilities
- Frequently required to travel to campus and off campus locations.
- Regularly required to hear and speak in order to effectively communicate orally.
- Regularly required to stand, walk, and climb stairs to move about the campus.
- Handle materials, reach overhead, kneel, or stoop in order to conduct business.
- Regularly lift 100 or fewer pounds.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work Environment
The working environment in which one will typically perform the essential functions of this position is both an indoor and outdoor setting. It is well lighted, and the noise level is moderate. Working environment may include facilitation of events outdoors occasionally.
