Schroeder Sales, Inc is an independent manufacturer’s representative firm. We serve the electrical construction, industrial, utility and DOT markets in New Mexico. Schroeder Sales has been successful in this marketplace for nearly 50 years. Our service includes detailed product knowledge, design assistance to architects and electrical consulting engineers, pricing to wholesalers, order entry, order expediting and product installation support.
The position is defined as ‘support to the Schroeder Sales quote and orders team’ with the future potential of becoming a primary quotes or orders person.
It will require (eventually) a very good understanding of our business software, which is called Oasis, as created by Ingen Software. It is database software, but the front entry level is like Excel. We use this software to generate quotations, enter orders, track customers, etc.
The position will require significant data entry effort but will also require the employee to interface with customers on a regular basis to provide information about quotes, orders, services and products. Over time a good understanding of product part numbers and how those products are used in the industries we serve will be required.
On-the-job training is the primary source of learning this job, but we also invite manufacturer’s personnel to visit and provide detailed training on their products.
Primary Duties will (eventually) include:
Cultivate relationships with employees and customers by providing excellent customer service and timely responsiveness.
Answer phone in a manner which exemplifies professionalism and friendliness.
Route phone calls and/or visitors to the appropriate person of department in a professional and timely manner
Ensure that all written messages are clear and passed on promptly.
Perform data entry consisting of updating computer records including customer maintenance and other records as assigned.

- Interface regularly with customers for quotes and order inquiries.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of product part numbers and applications.
- Proficiency in database software (training provided on Oasis, by Ingen Software).
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to learn and understand product details and their industry applications.
- Eager to engage in on-the-job and manufacturer-provided training.
- Adept at managing and organizing data.
