Job Summary
Title: Grassroots AssistantReports to: Grassroots DirectorJob Summary: The Grassroots Assistant supports the Grassroots Director in executing Heritage Action’s grassroots strategy, with an emphasis on growing and sustaining the organization’s premier activist networks and Sentinels. This role collaborates with State Directors, internal teams, and The Heritage Foundation to equip activists with timely policy information and engagement tools. The Grassroots Assistant helps coordinate communications, support events and coalitions, track grassroots impact, and maintain operational processes that enable effective state-level advocacy. Job Duties:Draft grassroots issue primers, emails to Sentinels, and other policy education materials.Assist in ensuring the national office and state directors have new and up-to-date materials on current legislative issues and general recruitment.Assist in shipping materials to State Directors for conferences and general distribution.Attend internal Heritage meetings and external coalition meetings, take meeting notes, and identify any follow-up actions for the Grassroots Director.Help plan the Sentinel Strategy Call agenda and prepare outlines for the host.Collect weekly impact reports and compile for Director of Grassroots.Provide tracking and reports for grassroots initiatives.Support the grassroots event coordinator in executing large grassroots events as needed.Help create and implement processes to support the work of State Directors in coordination with the Grassroots Director.Assist in tracking the Sentinel network recruitment and retention rates.Assist in managing and monitoring Sentinel social media channels.Help brainstorm and track new Sentinel engagement ideas. Qualifications: Education: BA preferredExperience: Some Hill, campaign, or grassroots experienceCommunication: Excellent written and verbal communications skillsTechnology: Microsoft Suite; proficiency in social media management tools Other Requirements: Understand and support the Heritage mission and vision for America, and Heritage Action’s goals and objectives.High level of professionalism (adaptability, maturity, integrity, accountability).Knowledge of the conservative movement and principles; ability to apply principles to policy research, legislative priorities, and grassroots activism.Highly organized and attentive to detail; able to multitask and prioritize projects in a fast-paced environment.Self-starter with a willingness to innovate to accomplish goals. · Willing to travel occasionally, when needed. The salary range for this role is $55,000 - $60,000 annually. This range is a good faith estimate, and the final salary offered to a selected candidate depends on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, education, and other qualifications; internal and external market pay for comparable jobs; and level of hire based on aforementioned qualifications.
