Summary:
A Senior Test Development Engineer designs, develops, and validates RF and electronic circuit board test systems and software. This individual collaborates with engineering teams and customers to manage the full lifecycle of test systems, from concept to production. Key responsibilities include authoring and analyzing detailed requirements, evaluating mechanical designs, developing cable assemblies, selecting electronic parts, and writing software. The role also involves process and procedure development, conducting time studies, and balancing projects within timeline and budget constraints. The engineer may lead project teams for larger tasks or when additional expertise is needed. A strong knowledge of electronic parts, power supplies, human-machine interfaces, cable harnesses, mechanical construction, and software development is essential.
Design and validate complex test systems, ensuring smooth interactions with other systems.
Deploy automated and semi-automated test systems for RF based products to verify performance and functionality.
Develop test strategies and methodologies for new products.
Analyze existing test systems and software, recommending improvements for scalability and efficiency.
Perform system and sub-system analysis, simulation, and design work as necessary.
Collaborate on design decisions, including trade-offs between in-house design and purchasing.
Participate in system assembly, test planning, and procedure generation for prototypes.
Participate in all stages of design activities, from concept through production.
Create and maintain accurate documentation, including test system documentation, maintenance manuals, and software procedures.
Collaborate with engineering, sales, and manufacturing teams to share ideas and foster innovation.
Language Skills:
Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
Ability to understand product specifications, engineering drawings, and technical documents.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to work directly with customers.
Other Qualifications:
May be required to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds.
Required to stand, walk and sit during job.
Must be able to see color and adjust focus.

Generally quiet, but can be moderate during testing operations.
