Job Summary
SUMMARY:Do you want to be a part of a new, fast-growing movement to engage Americans from all backgrounds, ages, races, and ethnicities about those core values that unite all Americans? Our America is looking for energetic, experienced individuals who will build Our America’s grassroots presence in Wisconsin. Our State Grassroots Director must have in-person and digital grassroots experience and be able to work both as a member of a team as well as independently. We are ideally seeking an applicant who: 1) is fluent in Spanish and 2) resides in the WOW Counties or has established relationships and connections within the state. While these attributes are not required, they will strengthen an applicant’s consideration for the position.The ideal candidate is passionate about working toward a time in our country when supporting America is patriotic and not a political statement; when civil discourse replaces shouting; and when standing up for America is more important than standing against each other. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESAttend events and target audiences reflective of Our America’s brand and membership to introduce and educate citizens to Our America and its mission.Identify, recruit, train, and deploy activists for legislative and political campaigns (C4), as well as community service and educational events (C3), that align with Our America’s mission and principles. Activities include, but are not limited to:o Identify, recruit, manage, and mobilize Hometown Hero activists in your regiono Start and manage Our America chapters within the state o Identify “grasstops” leaders to build local volunteer chapters to engage in their communitieso Building and managing legislative advocacy and political campaign grassroots operations, including GOTVo Hosting and attending local meetings of supporterso Turning out attendees to local government meetingso Attaining signers to letters in support of Our America's policieso Identifying aligned organizations and coalition buildingKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:Paid campaign or association experience preferredGood interpersonal communication skillsSolid writing skillsProject management skillsExperience with campaign technologiesEvent planningPublic speakingSocial media and database managementDetail-oriented, good time management skills and ability to prioritize work.Ability to take initiative, anticipate need, and exercise independent/sound judgmentNeeds to be a problem solver, a self-starter, and be able to work with minimal supervision, within the team structure to ensure success in their regionEvening/Weekend work required Must live in assigned state of operation and/or have established relationshipsFluent in Spanish a plusEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:Three years of directly relevant work experience strongly preferred, but appropriate work experience may also be consideredCampaign and/or Association grassroots experienceCollege degree in related field preferredBENEFITS:Contract position with potential for full time employment and benefitsTeam focused - Teammates and leadership are there to assist when you need help.Open-door management style: we welcome feedback in all areasAn entrepreneurial spirit, fast paced environmentABOUT US:Our America’s mission is to build a broad, diverse coalition of people who support those timeless American values that empower everyone to thrive, including: equal opportunity, mutual respect, and freedom of expression.
