The Roundtable is the leading organization in the United States focused on promoting and defending the power of private giving and the means to create wealth to make charitable giving possible.Job Summary:Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Vice President of Events and Meetings will play an instrumental role in elevating the gatherings of the organization from good to great. The Roundtable currently hosts a wide array of events from intimate working groups to a 400-person Annual Meeting. As outlined in our strategic plan, the organization will increase the number, type, and quality of its meetings as it engages new audiences, especially wealth creators and donors giving as individuals.The VP will deliver unique gatherings that engage attendees in the work of the organization, encourage conversation and community, and educate donors on issues such as philanthropic freedom and donor intent, which are at the heart of the Roundtable’s mission. The Vice President of Events and Meetings is responsible for managing the Director of Events as well as two other team members.Job Duties:Create, in collaboration with the Chief Operating Officer and the Events and Meetings department team, the overall event strategy for the organizationDrive the brainstorming and implementation of new event concepts and outreach tools to help the Roundtable engage and grow its target markets through event programming initiativesBuild and implement best practices, standards, systems, and procedures for an elite events apparatusTrack and manage project timelines, staffing, resources, deliverables, and contingency planning for all event programmingGrow, manage, and mentor a growing team of event professionalsCollaborate with all teams across the organization to engage them in successfully executing best-in-class eventsSupervise event registrations and optimize event databases Serve as the primary contact with hotel and other vendors for all logistics or supervise this work performed by other events team membersReview all banquet event ordersManage hotel room blocks for staff, speakers, and attendeesCoordinate speaker and entertainment invitations and logisticsNegotiate advantageous hotel and venue contracts for the Annual Meeting and other Roundtable eventsDirect Roundtable staff while onsite at events to ensure both flawless execution and an exceptional experience for donorsRequirements:Minimum of 10 years professional experience planning and executing high-quality events for elite audiencesExperience managing staff members and providing team leadershipExperience creating and managing event budgetsSuccess in working with a wide array of venues, vendors, including managing and negotiating hotel contractsExceptional written and verbal communication skillsHighly organized with an ability to manage the details of multiple projects and consistently meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentVersatility to be both a self-starter who takes initiative and a collaborative team player focused on achieving resultsStrong interpersonal skillsCreative and quick thinking Shows grace under pressureHigh standard of honesty and strong ethical standardsEndorses and is motived by the guiding principles, mission, and vision of the RoundtableBachelor’s degreeStrong computer skills; excellent command of MS Office, Outlook, Zoom, Teams, or other virtual meeting platforms; experience with a CRM database (Microsoft D365, Salesforce, Raiser’s Edge, etc.) and event management software is a mustTravel: Up to 25%. All travel will be domestic.Salary: The projected annual salary range is $150,000-$170,000, contingent upon the specific skills and experience of the selected candidate.
